COLOR GUARD

Our Color Guard

Since early history flags and banners have been used by armies in battle. They served several purposes in addition to being symbols of the unit. To protect the flags, a detachment of soldiers was assigned to carry and guard them.
Being a member of the Post 21 Color Guard is considered an honor because these individuals present, carry, and guard the symbols of our Country, our State and the American Legion.

Upon request, our Color Guard is is ready to present the colors at local veterans’ ceremonies, parades, community and sporting events…Examples of events supported by the Color Guard are presentation of The Colors at Veterans Day American Heroes Festival, Military Service Academy Appointments Ceremony and various grand openings for local businesses. While our service is free, we welcome donations to help us continue our Color Guard mission which is all voluntary.
