Post 21 Commander Receives 26th District Congressional Veteran Commendation
Commander Garcia was presented with this prestigious award at the annual Highland Village Business Association Salute to Veterans luncheon on November 10th 2023, in front of more than 300 veterans and guests.
Congressman Michael Burgess read the award which covered Mary’s achievements during her time in U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer and then as a proud member of the American Legion.
The citation read in part, “for honorable service performed while a member of the Armed Forces of the United States of America and for continued beneficial service to the North Texas community. Major Garcia’s patriotism, loyalty, and dedication demonstrate the highest model of military service.
Along with the citation, Mary was presented the Congressman’s coin and a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol.
